About Spell Crush
How to Play
Spell Crush combines spelling practice with the engaging 'matching tile' mechanics popularized by modern mobile games.
An image of an object is displayed at the top. Below is a grid filled with colorful, jumbled letter tiles subject to gravity physics. Some of these tiles contain the letters needed to spell the target word.
The player must tap the correct letters within the grid, in the exact sequence required to spell the word. As correct letters are tapped, they fly up to complete the word, and gravity pulls new tiles down to fill the empty spaces.
Educational Benefits
While traditional spelling tests are static, Spell Crush requires dynamic visual scanning. Children must search a chaotic field for specific targets, improving visual figure-ground discrimination.
The requirement to tap the letters in the correct sequence reinforces standard left-to-right reading habits. The physics-based environment keeps the game feeling lively and responsive, encouraging children to play—and therefore spell—for longer durations.
